Writing
While it’s been quite a few years since I’ve done any serious writing, I thought I would take some time to put up my writing from years past. Not sure what I expect to come of this, but it would be nice to have it displayed somewhere, even if just to remind me of my youth. Nothing posted will be more recent than the ten years, and I can’t be too sure I remember the mood or reason I wrote most of this. All in all, good, bad, horrific, ugly, or embarrassing, it’s a-going up on spb.
Disclaimer: Comments by my wife on these poems, made me realize that a lot of these poems, especially the ones with provocative titles, lack any sort of context as is on this page. The reality is, most of these poems are meant as observations, but my lack of skill and experience sometimes makes them very crude. Between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one, I was a rough poet and an incomplete person. Took me a while to really figure everything out as a person. I didn’t have a tough life, and actually, everything turned out pretty good. I just had some personality flaws that I sometimes tried to work out in poems, or I would try to write about what I thought from observation people were thinking about their own situations. Sometimes I hit, sometimes I was artless. These poems and prose would probably disqualify me from ever running for public office, but I put them up as a record of myself, warts and all.
